Scrum Master

Overview:

The Law Society of Ireland is the educational, representative and regulatory body of the solicitors’ profession in Ireland. With a proud history dating back to 1830, the Law Society plays a central role in maintaining standards within the legal profession and ensuring the integrity of legal services in the public interest.

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master who combines deep technical knowledge with strong leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background working on multiple concurrent projects. This role involves guiding our development team to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Agile Facilitation:

  • Lead Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.

  • Coach team members on Agile principles and ensure adherence to Scrum practices.

  • Collaborate with development teams utilising Azure services, ensuring best practices  
  
  
  
  

• Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals. 
  
  
  
  

• 
  
  
  
  • Manage expectations and provide regular updates on project progress and impediments.  
  
  
  
  

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Utilise Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts) to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Promote a culture of learning and adaptability within the team. 
  
  
  
  

Qualifications: 

• Education & Certification: 

• 
  
  
  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  
  
  
  

• 
  
  
  
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification. 
  
  
  
  

• Experience: 

• 
  
  
  
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments. 
  
  
  
  

• 
  
  
  
  • Proven experience with Azure services, including Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps 
  
  
  
  

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Proficiency in tools such as Azure DevOps Boards, Azure Works items or comparable (Jira, Confluence etc) 
  
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with Object Relational Frameworks such as Aptify or Entity Framework 

• Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power BI and Power Automate. 

• Experience with other components of the Power Platform, such as Power Apps and Dataverse. 

• Knowledge of data modelling and DAX for Power BI. 

• Hands-on experience creating and reviewing SQL and JQL queries 

• Understanding of security considerations in cloud environments.
