Senior Associate AML Oversight MLRO Services

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Associate – AML Oversight will play a key role in delivering AML/CFT oversight services as part of Waystone’s MLRO Services. This includes performing annual reviews of fund administrators and supporting the reporting obligations of fund-appointed MLROs for funds managed by Waystone Management Company (IE) Limited.

This role is central to maintaining regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions (EU, Cayman Islands, Guernsey), ensuring AML/CFT policies and processes meet local laws, guidance, and best practices.

• Act on behalf of the delegate oversight team to perform AML oversight of the administrators appointed by the ManCo to the fund.


• Coordinate and conduct annual AML/CFT reviews of each appointed fund administrator.


• Through the course of the on site of the administrator assess the policies and procedures of the administrator to ensure the administrator is conducting AML to the applicable standard.


• Draft detailed review reports including findings and recommendations where appropriate.


• Collaborate with administrators to agree on remediation plans where needed


• Liaise with administrator personnel and fund MLROs throughout the course of the year to ensure all necessary information & documentation is on file on behalf of the ManCo


• Assess AML/CFT frameworks against jurisdiction-specific legislation as appropriate and where needed


• Share completed reports with the Risk Oversight team in a timely manner


• Provide quarterly updates on review progress to stakeholders.


• Coordinate & collate key AML/CTF metrics pertinent to the ManCo on a quarterly basis


• Oversee the completion of standard templates and ensure accurate reporting of key fund data such as PEPs, high risk & non-compliant investors amongst other key data.


• Support the MLRO of Waystone Management Company (IE) Limited, through reporting, escalating as appropriate & responding to queries.

Reporting & KPIs

• Deliver quarterly updates on Administrator review status to Risk Oversight.


• Final reports submitted within agreed time period.


• Quarterly MLRO key metrics submitted in line with scheduled board meetings.


• Immediate escalation of material AML/CFT concerns WMC IE MLRO.

Experience:

• 3–5 years of experience in AML/CTF, fund oversight, or compliance within financial services.


• Strong understanding of fund structures and regulatory frameworks across EU, Cayman, and Guernsey jurisdictions.


• Familiarity with fund administrators, AIFMs, and MLRO responsibilities.


• Excellent written communication and report writing skills.


• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage multiple external relationships.


• Highly organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities.


• Experience with AML oversight, due diligence assessments, and metric reporting tools is desirable.

Education:

• University degree preferably specialising in law, business or regulation


• Professional qualification (such as ACOI, AML qualification) desirable but not required
