Senior C Developer

As a Software Engineer you will research, design, and implement solutions for our industry leading XPP Publishing software. You will use your knowledge of cloud and cloud technologies, algorithms, data structures, and C to help build functionality for the product and its cloud offering counterpart. You will maintain and build efficient and scalable code to process content and create published output in pdf and other formats.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop core services and components with expertise in C and Cloud technologies

• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues; identify and implement solutions
• Interface with your cross-functional team to ensure implementations meet business requirements, solution architecture and design
• Work with the SCRUM master and product owner to provide development sizing & cost analysis estimates
• Work closely with product owner, architect, and team members to decompose stories, design features and prioritize tasks
• Deliver new concepts and features, working alongside development peers in an agile environment
• Create, maintain and ensure adherence to development, coding, testing and automation standards
• Lead, guide, mentor, and motivate other development team members including performing design and code reviews
• Utilize automated software test tools and frameworks such as test-driven development to achieve the highest quality in software delivery
• Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience C development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A strong foundation in algorithms, design patterns and data structures
• Strong understanding of asynchrony, concurrency, and parallelism
• Experience with Linux (RHEL) and Windows
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with other developers and guide junior team members.
• Strong delegation and time management skills
• Ability to propose and estimate the impact of solution alternatives
• Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
• Experience in all phases of the software development process as a member of a Scrum team
• Team-player with strong interpersonal skills comfortable working as part of distributed team
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related discipline

As a plus

• Experience in Cloud Platform development principles, platforms and tools (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with the design, development, and maintenance of REST APIs

• Experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (such as Helm, Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Experience with publishing and/or content management applications
• Experience with Java, React, Perl, Python, XSLT, NodeJS
• Experience developing applications using GTK, MSYS, CMake

• Experience with Jira/Confluence/GIT
