Job Description - Senior Health and Safety Advisor - Construction


Client: Tier 1 Main Contractor
Location: Cork
Projects: High-density Residential, Pharmaceutica, Industrial & Fit-Out
Essentials: Recognised EHS degree or diploma (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred); minimum 7 years’ experience in EHS roles; prior experience on construction projects within large-scale developments with a Main Contractor

Salary: €75,000 - €90,000

Package: Company vehicle or car allowance; 26 days annual leave; pension (10%); bonus; company laptop and mobile phone

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced EHS Manager to join a forward-thinking team, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance across major regional developments.


 


Key Responsibilities:




  • Implement and maintain company EHS management systems, ensuring full compliance with statutory provisions and health & safety legislation




  • Act as the EHS subject matter expert, providing proactive guidance to management, employees and sub-contractors to promote an incident- and injury-free workplace




  • Coordinate and review critical safety documentation, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS) and Permits to Work




  • Deliver site inductions, EHS training programmes and support site management with ongoing Toolbox Talks




  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, reporting findings to senior management and ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly




  • Lead incident investigations, identify lessons learned and manage regulatory reporting to Directors, Insurers and the Health & Safety Authority (HSA)




  • Maintain accurate EHS registers, prepare monthly safety reports and compile the final project Safety File for client handover




  • Work closely with project and site management teams to continuously improve EHS standards and drive a strong proactive safety culture
