Job Description - Senior Manager, Audit Co-ordination/ESG - Statutory Reporting CoE

From an operational perspective, the Statutory Reporting COE has several corporate and statutory accounting responsibilities.

The Senior Manager– ESG/Audit Co-ordination- Statutory Reporting CoE will be responsible for liaising with ESG Reporting COE and applicable ESG reporting markets to facilitate seamless planning and reporting. This role also manages the Statutory audit co-ordination team and ensures careful planning and monitoring of the audits of markets under remit. In this role the manager is accountable for the operational management of the teams under their remit. The CoE is responsible for providing statutory financial transactions and accounting support to Pfizer entities globally. In this role, the leader will be responsible for the co-ordination, monitoring, tracking and stakeholder engagement of audit co-ordination and ESG of the relevant entities.

The role provides Best in Class Statutory and Audit management. The position is required to lead continuous improvement of GBS FS Financial processes at a global level and to ensure accurate and timely management of global audit status reporting to senior Pfizer stakeholders.  

This role requires extensive collaboration with ESG Reporting COE, Global Finance Operations, Controllers, Corporate Tax, KPMG and the Regional and Global GBS sites and COE leaderships.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core responsibilities include the following:

  • Leadership and Management of the GBS Global Statutory Reporting CoE teams under their remit (Audit Co-ordination/ESG reporting). Responsible for operational performance and providing strategic guidance and direction to their teams and broader function.
  • Support and operationalize Pfizer's global ESG regulatory reporting framework by providing support to local jurisdictional entities who have reporting requirements.
  • Provide support and communication with the ESG Reporting CoE and others to ensure seamless coordination and consistency with Pfizer strategy and policy. 
  • Ensure effective monitoring, tracking of audits, ongoing collaboration with local markets, all owners of audit deliverable and KPMG to ensure timely execution of audits.
  • Prioritize audit optimization initiatives to elevate and ensure the optimal audit approach for the future. Extensive collaboration with KPMG and global markets to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders related to ongoing operations, acquisitions or divestitures and any enterprise-wide initiatives under your remit.
  • Being one of the key leading owners of building Trusted and Integral Business partnership enhances Stakeholder partner relationships to meet the objectives of GBS and other Pfizer business units. 
  • Ensure operations are being performed in an economical, efficient, & professional manner, and promote the highest levels of service, productivity, and quality and reinforce divisional and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain professional standards for selection, training, motivation, development, and evaluation of colleagues in accordance with personnel policies of Pfizer to ensure optimal levels of performance.
  • Collaborate and support in-market Global Financial Operations teams to effectively manage local financial compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with Pfizer & local GAAP accounting and SOX requirements.
  • Manage the performance and development of colleagues to build a high performing and engaged team. Provide direction, training, and motivation necessary to secure their optimum commitment, competence, and engagement. Identify succession plans and lead talent planning for their organization.  Provide coaching and development for team members and create an environment that drives high colleague engagement
  • Interpret, oversee, and ensure implementation of corporate global policies, site and business specific guidelines and SOPs within your remit.
  • Focus on Innovation & process optimization to ensure effective & optimal solutions
  • Responsible for meeting budget and financial commitments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, Accounting, or any other business-related or technical degree with a significant quantitative or finance component.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) or post graduate finance/business degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a finance environment with demonstrated progression to more senior roles and responsibilities.  Direct experience of and competencies in Statutory Reporting, Project Management & Transformation are highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional business relationships with senior leaders and finance team peers across borders and virtually
  • Detail-orientation with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and quality in ESG reporting and disclosure practices. 
  • Basic understanding of and exposure to ESG-related regulatory reporting standards, frameworks, and mandates (such as CSRD, SEC, ISSB) 
  • Proven track record in developing external relationships with local financial regulatory authorities and thought leadership in the local finance community
  • Visible demonstration of and performance record in exemplifying the Pfizer Values and Behaviors
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration and influence skills; ability to influence at all levels, be persuasive, a good listener and assimilator of diverse ideas and perspectives
  • Strong competencies in operational risk management and controls.
  • Commercial acumen, strong communication skills, excellent emotional intelligence competencies and exceptional professionalism are prerequisites.
