We are currently hiring a Senior Physiotherapist Inpatients Medical\-Surgical Respiratory Care to join a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Design, coordinate, and deliver an efficient Surgical Inpatient Physiotherapy service across specialist pathways including Thoracic, Bariatric, Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT, and Oncology.
Provide person\-centred ward\-based care in collaboration with senior colleagues, ensuring all surgical and medical patients are assessed and treated within agreed departmental timeframes.
Support the delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation services in partnership with the Allied Therapy Manager.
Maintain the highest standards of clinical practice by implementing best\-practice operational procedures, engaging in audit, research, data analysis, and continuous professional development.
Supervise and support undergraduate physiotherapy students, providing structured in\-service training while ensuring safe, high\-quality patient care during placements.
Contribute to the leadership and coordination of the Medical and Surgical Physiotherapy team as part of the Senior Physiotherapy Management team, fostering effective interdisciplinary communication.
Participate in staff induction, appraisal, education programmes, and promote ongoing professional development and compliance with mandatory training requirements.
Ensure accurate record\-keeping, service statistics, policy updates, equipment safety compliance (electrical and non\-electrical), and approval of new equipment prior to clinical use; participate in the on\-call and standby rota as required.
Uphold Health and Safety standards by adhering to hospital safety policies, fire regulations, emergency planning procedures, and ensuring faulty equipment is promptly removed and repaired.
Support operational and financial management through compliance with hospital IT systems (including Meditech, Centricity, and BTime), service audits, data reporting, and assisting in budget control and capital equipment planning
Hold a recognised Degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification.
Be registered with CORU.
Have a minimum of two yearsâ post\-qualification Physiotherapy experience.
Possess clinical experience in Respiratory and general Medical\-Surgical ward\-based settings.
Demonstrate competence in Respiratory on\-call duties.
Have experience supervising staff grade physiotherapists and/or undergraduate students.
Ideally have experience and training in organising and delivering Outpatient Pulmonary and/or Cardiac Rehabilitation programmes, both individually and in group settings.
Have completed relevant post\-qualification courses in Respiratory care (including dysfunctional breathing), Neurology, or Rehabilitation.
Possess experience in clinical audit or quality improvement initiatives.
Membership of a specialist interest group would be advantageous.
