Product Strategy & Backlog Ownership
Own the product strategy, backlog, and priorities across more than one team, ensuring work reflects business goals and customer value.
This includes:
Owning and maintaining the product backlog and roadmap for multiple teams
Setting and defending priorities based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility
Translating strategy into clear, well-sequenced epics and initiatives
Balancing competing priorities across teams and stakeholders
Making trade-off calls and communicating the reasoning behind them
AI tools may be used to support roadmap analysis, prioritisation modelling, and strategy documentation.
Agile Leadership
Lead and mature agile practices across the teams you support, raising the standard of how each team plans, delivers, and improves.
This includes:
Running or overseeing sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives across multiple teams
Coaching teams and their leads on agile practices and continuous improvement
Identifying process gaps and introducing changes that improve delivery predictability
Ensuring consistent, high-quality ceremonies across the teams you manage
Tracking delivery health and surfacing risks before they impact release timelines
Team & Stakeholder Management
Manage and support more than one product team, ensuring each has the clarity, direction, and coaching needed to deliver well.
This includes:
Managing workload, priorities, and delivery expectations across multiple teams
Coaching and developing team members, including more junior product talent
Acting as the escalation point for cross-team dependencies and blockers
Aligning engineering, design, and other stakeholders around shared priorities
Customer Engagement
Act as a confident, credible voice with customers, using direct conversations to sharpen product direction.
This includes:
Leading customer conversations to gather feedback, validate ideas, and understand needs
Representing the product in customer-facing discussions, demos, and escalations
Translating customer input into prioritised backlog items and roadmap decisions
Building trusted relationships with key customers and internal customer-facing teams
Product Quality
Ensure the products delivered across your teams maintain a high level of reliability and usability.
This includes:
Setting the quality bar and acting as the final product quality checkpoint before release
Partnering with QA and engineering leads on testing strategy and coverage
Validating workflows and identifying edge cases across product areas
Overseeing regression testing for critical functionality across teams
The role may also explore how AI assisted testing and validation can strengthen quality assurance across teams.
Product Enablement
Ensure internal and customer teams understand and can adopt what your teams deliver.
This includes:
Owning product documentation, release notes, and enablement materials across your teams
Leading enablement for sales, support, and operations teams
Driving customer product enablement activities, helping customers understand and adopt new capabilities
Ensuring workflows and product functionality are well documented to support adoption
Product enablement activities form part of the 2026 product KPI framework (this will be developed in H2 of 2026).
AI Exploration
Champion the exploration of practical AI opportunities within the EIDA platform and internal workflows across your teams.
This may include:
Identifying and prioritising AI assisted opportunities that improve product workflows
Evaluating AI capabilities that could enhance customer insight or product functionality
Sponsoring ideas that could evolve into future product features, partnering with the Labs group where relevant
AI exploration should remain grounded in real product problems and customer value, alongside core product responsibilities.
