The successful candidate will work on multiple layers of the software stack, closely with system architects, senior software engineers and hardware engineers located in Ireland and other global Qualcomm locations.\n\nWhat are we looking for?\n\nThe ideal candidates should have a background in embedded software development, in a range between 2 and 7+ years of experience in any of: Board Support Packages (BSP), Device driver development, RTOS, Secure Boot, Trust-zone, Low-speed peripheral interfaces (I2C/SPI/UART), Chipset power blocks, Clock tree management, PCIe and efficient data movement using DMA, Embedded Linux development.\n\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n * Design, develop and maintain software for Qualcomm SOCs and Edge Devices\n * Design, develop and maintain device drivers and boot loaders for embedded systems\n * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and test embedded systems software\n * Troubleshoot and debug software issues in embedded systems\n * Work with hardware engineers to ensure software and hardware compatibility\n * Embedded Linux software development, processes and documentation is a plus\n\n\n\nMust have\n\n * You must be able to code in C to a high standard\n\n\n\nBeneficial to have:\n\n * Experience with software feature design\n * Experience with software development in C/C++ including unit-test, performance analysis, code coverage, static analysis\n * (For Senior positions) Experience mentoring other software developers\n * Experience using GNU/LLVM tools on embedded platforms using stop-mode debug tools such as JTAG/SWD\n * Experience working with BSP development including device driver development, board-bring-up, RTOS\u2019s, secure boot \u0026 trust zone\n * Experience with development of peripheral drivers.\n * Knowledge of RTOS, SoC architecture (core, cache, memory, bus architecture, IOs, etc.) and common hardware blocks and multi-threaded programming\n * Experience with Source Code and Configuration management tools such as git/Gerrit\n * Willingness to work in a structured software development environment with ability to work on low-level implementation (code \u0026 test)\n * Willingness to work in a high-caliber international/multi-site team\n * Good English communication (written and verbal) and positive interpersonal skills\n\n\n\nDesirable Skills and Aptitudes:\n\n * Familiar with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, LPDDR, USB\n * Familiar with implementing Reliability, Accessibility and Serviceability (RAS) through use of technologies such as ECC, IPMI \u0026 PCI AER fields.\n * Familiar with low speed interfaces such as I2C, SPI, SPMI, and SMBus\n * Familiar with on-chip middleware for communication, logging and power control\n * Experience working with and familiarity with important microprocessor building blocks like microprocessor execution levels, interrupt controller \u0026 timers\n * Software development and debug tools including compilers, profilers, source control systems, emulators, JTAG and serial debuggers, and logic analyzers\n * Familiarity with build and development for Embedded Linux through use of tools such as Yocto, Buildroot or OpenEmbedded\n\n\n * Familiarity with the upstream Linux kernel community and the Linux kernel development process\n\n\n\nWhere you will be working\n\nCork has a proud reputation as Ireland\u0027s second largest economic engine and is now one of the Top 20 location choices in Europe with 39,000 people being employed by over 170 overseas companies. \nThere\u0027s a growing diversity in the region with people from many nationalities relocating to Cork, relishing the opportunity to work and live in a location that offers an excellent quality of life. \nA gateway to Europe, Cork airport provides access to almost 50 international destinations including transatlantic air routes.\n\nEqual Opportunities \nWe are an Equal Opportunity employer;
