What’s the role?

Privacy Engineering is a part of the Trust & Safety Experience group which helps buyers and sellers to feel confident engaging, transacting, and growing on Etsy. The Privacy Engineering mission is for Etsy buyers and sellers to have clear control over their data, Etsy meets global privacy obligations with confidence, and product teams have the guidance needed to build safely by default.

Our team is cross-functional, consisting of a senior engineering manager, product manager, legal partners, software development and privacy engineers, with support from data analytics and design. The team is distributed across US and Ireland locations. 

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. 

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Dublin office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What’s this team like at Etsy?

• This team is focused on expanding the Etsy Privacy Platform and end user experiences - building in the Etsy PHP/MySQL monolith and related systems - the architecture that powers Etsy.com.

• They also focus on design, development and implementation of everything from end-user frontend experiences to backend APIs, automations and workflow tooling - always with an eye to reliability and scale.

What does the day-to-day look like?

• You’ll be able to exploit opportunities to work up and down the stack and across collaborating systems.

• This team also collaborates with peers cross-functionally and cross organizationally.
