Senior Supplier Engineer

Work is usually independently performed with general instructions as to the objectives expected. Executes plans to support supply chain objectives; supplier performance, supplied material risk mitigation and execution of material value improvement projects. Proficient in the use of all business tools. Leads and/or participates in project teams coordinating the efforts of engineers and cross functional team members to qualify and improve supplier processes. Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work for part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Lead NCEP/CAPA/Complaint investigations where supplied material is a potential root cause. Expert in the use of statistical tools (re. Six Sigma Green Belt). Can provide guidance to junior engineering staff on problem solving methodology. Familiar with analytical techniques commonly used to investigate component defects. Proficiency in report writing, presentation creation and communication skills. May need to travel to supplier sites (5-10% travel. Bachelor's degree required in Engineering 5+ yrs. Individual must be self-motivated, and results orientated.
