Now let us tell you about the role:
As the SHEQ Officer you shall support the SHEQ Manager to develop the business on Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality matters.
Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, the SHEQ Officer will coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies.
General
* Provide support in developing, implementing and reviewing the policies and procedures relating to company’s integrated management system for SHEQ.
* Monitoring the effectiveness of SHEQ policies and procedures.
* Establish Safe Systems of Work as and when required. Monitoring the implementation of Safe Systems of Work and protocols to determine continuous improvement.
* Provide support in developing, reviewing and monitoring of the SHEQ Plan, objectives and targets.
* Provide support in the implementation of SHEQ risk management projects and initiatives.
* Assist in addressing areas of poor performance.
* Assess SHEQ compliance requirements which are relevant to the company.
* Liaising with employees at all levels.
* Carryout site/office inspections, system audits (where trained).
* Planning and coordinating SHEQ related training.
* Conduct SHEQ Committee Meetings and attend meetings when required on behalf of the SHEQ department – Management meetings etc.
* Coordinate and participate in the investigations following an accident, incident, near miss or non-conformance. Compile and submit investigation reports to the SHEQ Manager.
* Preparing daily/weekly and monthly SHEQ reports, statistics and presentations related to SHEQ performance.
* Work closely with Managers and Supervisors to ensure that risk assessments are being completed by the 'on-site' team.
* Conduct assessments of suppliers and contractors as required.
* Provide support in developing, reviewing and monitoring the SHEQ culture.
* Assist in development and implementing of emergency response procedures and evacuation plans on site and offices. Ensure that these plans are reviewed and updated regularly.
* Maintain the Action Tracker for Corrective Actions. Follow up to ensure that corrective actions are implemented where necessary and ensure that requirements are complied with.
* Monitor contractor performance and work sites by conducting site visits and audits and compiling relevant reports. Escalate matters of continuous non-conformance.
Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time-to-time by management.
