We are currently hiring a Staff Nurse â All Specialties for a hospital in Limerick, Ireland.

Position: Staff Nurse â All Specalities
Location: Limerick, Ireland
Type: Permanent (Full-time / Part-time positions also considered)

Responsibilities

Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

Monitor, record, and report patients' conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.

Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments safely and accurately as prescribed.

Assist with diagnostic tests, medical procedures, and patient examinations.

Recognize changes in patients' conditions and escalate concerns promptly to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation and nursing records.

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.

Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

Promote patient safety by adhering to infection prevention and control protocols and clinical governance standards.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional regulations, and quality assurance procedures.

Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families.

Safely operate and maintain clinical equipment in accordance with hospital guidelines.

Participate in shift handovers, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary meetings.

Supervise, mentor, and support junior nurses, healthcare assistants, and nursing students where appropriate.

Respond effectively to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions within scope of practice.

Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic clinical environment.

Participate in mandatory training, continuing professional development (CPD), and quality improvement initiatives.

Uphold patient dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and person-centred care at all times.

Perform any other duties appropriate to the role as assigned by the Nurse Manager or Clinical Nurse Manager.

Requirements

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligibility for registration.

Minimum of 2 years' post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills.

Strong clinical knowledge and competencies, with evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Flexible approach to working hours, including day, night, weekend, and public holiday shifts as required.

Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining high standards of care.

Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation and adhering to professional standards and hospital policies.
