We are currently hiring a Staff Nurse – All Specialties for a hospital in Limerick, Ireland.

Position: Staff Nurse – All Specalities
Location: Limerick, Ireland
Type: Permanent (Full-time / Part-time positions also considered)




Responsibilities









  • Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.



  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.



  • Monitor, record, and report patients' conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.



  • Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments safely and accurately as prescribed.



  • Assist with diagnostic tests, medical procedures, and patient examinations.



  • Recognize changes in patients' conditions and escalate concerns promptly to the appropriate healthcare professionals.



  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation and nursing records.



  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.



  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.



  • Promote patient safety by adhering to infection prevention and control protocols and clinical governance standards.



  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional regulations, and quality assurance procedures.



  • Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families.



  • Safely operate and maintain clinical equipment in accordance with hospital guidelines.



  • Participate in shift handovers, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary meetings.



  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior nurses, healthcare assistants, and nursing students where appropriate.



  • Respond effectively to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions within scope of practice.



  • Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic clinical environment.



  • Participate in mandatory training, continuing professional development (CPD), and quality improvement initiatives.



  • Uphold patient dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and person-centred care at all times.



  • Perform any other duties appropriate to the role as assigned by the Nurse Manager or Clinical Nurse Manager.























Requirements




  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligibility for registration.



  • Minimum of 2 years' post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.



  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills.



  • Strong clinical knowledge and competencies, with evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).



  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.



  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.



  • Flexible approach to working hours, including day, night, weekend, and public holiday shifts as required.



  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.



  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining high standards of care.



  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation and adhering to professional standards and hospital policies.
