RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment for both domestic and overseas candidates across Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Homecare, and Community Care services.


We are currently recruiting for a Staff Nurse – Cardiac and Acute Care Unit (CACU) position in a hospital located in Galway.



This is a Full-Time role working 37.5 hours per week.


Responsibilities




  • Deliver high-quality nursing care and treatments in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.



  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and supporting discharge planning.



  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and controlled drugs safely in line with hospital protocols, while monitoring patients and reporting any adverse reactions or medication incidents.



  • Adhere to infection prevention and control standards, work closely with the Infection Control Nurse, and ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste according to hospital policy.














Requirements




  • Registered, or eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).



  • Minimum of 1–2 years of post-registration nursing experience, preferably in Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or a related acute care setting.



  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in line with hospital policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.



  • Skilled in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.



  • Competent in the safe administration of medications, including IV therapies, blood and blood products, and controlled drugs, with appropriate patient monitoring and reporting of adverse events.



  • Sound knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, including the safe handling and disposal of clinical waste in accordance with hospital policies.



  • Strong commitment to patient safety, professional accountability, and delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.



  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.



  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification with active NMBI registration or eligibility to register.



  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work rotational shifts, including day, night, weekend, and public holiday duties as required.
