Staff Nurse - Cardiology

We are hiring a Staff Nurse - Cardiology in our hospital in Limerick, Ireland.

• 
  

  Provide safe, hands-on, patient-centred nursing care to patients undergoing interventional cardiology procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity throughout their care.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare patients for procedures by completing pre-procedure assessments, explaining the planned treatment, addressing concerns, and ensuring patients are appropriately informed and supported.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, including vital signs and clinical status, promptly identifying and escalating any changes or complications to the CNM or Consultant.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with the preparation and management of the catheterisation laboratory, equipment, and supplies, ensuring appropriate sterilisation, infection prevention, and readiness for procedures.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote effective communication, coordinated care, and positive patient outcomes and experiences.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain accountability for own clinical practice in accordance with NMBI standards, continuously developing professional knowledge, competence, and scope of practice.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain awareness of and comply with relevant national, professional, and local quality and safety standards, including HIQA and JCI requirements, while supporting continuous quality improvement.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  

  
  

Requirements

• 
  

  Be registered, or eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the NMBI Register.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Have 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably within cardiology or an acute care setting.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Previous experience in a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) or interventional cardiology is desirable.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Demonstrate knowledge of current practices, developments, and best standards in interventional cardiology nursing.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Experience in monitoring and managing patients undergoing invasive cardiology procedures is desirable.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Demonstrate the ability to provide safe, effective, and patient-centred care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  
  
  

  
  


• 
  

  Previous experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is desirable.
