Position Overview
The candidate will act as the Designated Person for Capital and Financial Management for PIMCO Global Advisors (Ireland) Limited, together with direct oversight of fund treasury, fund accounting and financial reporting oversight, tax reporting and fund related operational taxes. Departmental responsibilities include:
Oversight of financial statements for all PIMCO’s European fund complexes (principally
Dublin and Luxembourg-registered UCITS and AIFMD funds),
Oversight of regulatory returns in accordance with Central Bank of Ireland guidance,
Management of financial control activities including budget setting and invoice management,
Liaising with internal clients (Portfolio managers; Account managers) for tax queries,
European fund and investor tax reporting,
Vendor oversight for the Fund’s service providers for fund accounting, tax and financial
reporting.
The group handles complex processes involving multiple departments, internal systems, and external service providers across multiple time zones. This role is a 13-month contract role supported by other PIMCO Employees.
Role Requirements
Acting as an interim DP for Capital and Financial management in their regulatory and oversight responsibilities.
Preparation of Designated Person reports on monthly/quarterly basis and their presentation to designated person meetings, the Audit Committee and Board meetings.
Oversight of the fund tax reporting and advisory functions, to include managing outsourced tax reporting functions, responding to operational tax queries, and supporting the process of tax filings.
Ongoing monitoring of accounting records, financial control and financial statements.
Monitoring compliance with minimum capital requirements, including regulatory return submissions to Central Bank of Ireland.
Completion of other regulatory returns for the management company and fund complexes, e.g. Annex IV reporting.
Oversight of the process for valuation of fund assets.
Investigation and escalation of issues and errors arising, engaging internal and external stakeholders for resolution.
Monitor the performance of the service providers in accordance with agreed SLA standards.
Participation in regular due diligence meetings with external service providers.
Ongoing review of internal procedures with focus on risk and controls.
Liaise with global teams and external parties in response to new accounting standards and/or industry technical developments.
Continually improve business processes in the team.
Participate in project implementation (local and global)
Assist with ad hoc queries for clients.
Desirable knowledge to include:
Irish fund management company regulatory requirements and governance regimes.
Understanding of the financial reporting process and managing auditors.
Fund accounting and valuation.
General knowledge of UCITS / AIFMD rules.
Fund tax reporting.
Desired candidates should possess the following characteristics:
Ideally 10 years+ proven experience in Financial Services; Financial reporting and/or experience in tax.
Qualified accountant.
Experience presenting to Audit and/or Board Committees.
Excellent communication skills that facilitate effective partnerships across the business and with external service providers.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, attention to detail and constant focus on quality, ability to think quickly and resolve problems in a fast-paced international environment.
Adaptable, flexible and ability to lead and work in a team environment and work well with different departments, including senior management and the Board of Directors.
