Job Description - Technical Consultant

Job Title: Technical Consultant

Reporting to: Technical Associate Director

Base Salary: €55,000 to €65,000 per year plus bonus

This role has been created for an ambitious, competently skilled, and self-driven individual who has a desire to further their career working with clients leading innovation in Ireland . The desired candidate will have technical experience in the field of engineering, science or technology.

The role will include assisting our clients with the preparation of a technical assessment to form part of a R&D claim. The role will allow a technical specialist to work as part of a wider team in delivering successful projects for clients that are leading advancements in the fields of science and technology.

Experience

Required

- Science/Engineering (or similar) degree or post graduate qualification.

- 2 year's experience working in Engineering/Industrial field.

- Desire to learn about preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims in the sector.

- Adept at translating technical conversation into concise and compelling written documents.

- Strong numerical ability, attention to detail and first-time accuracy.

- Demonstrate an understanding of wider business and economic issues.

- Interact readily with technical professionals, and have outstanding interpersonal skills.

- Comfortable working autonomously and in a close team.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word packages.

Preffered

- Prior R&D Tax Credit experience and understanding of the tax claim process.

Key responsibilities

- Identifying qualifying R&D projects through participation in technical discussions with clients.

- Technical assessment of projects in-line with HMRC R&D tax relief guidelines and preparation of supporting technical documentation.

- Interaction with clients' technical and financial staff to develop a comprehensive understanding of claim benefit value in-line with HMRC's R&D Tax Relief Guidelines.

- Preperation of claim reports and documentation for client review and approval.

- Managing R&D claims and maintaining client information via CRM system.

- Providing support to R&D tax relief claims in the event of HMRC enquiries.
