Role overview
A leading international cutting tools manufacturer seeks an experienced Sales Manager to drive sales of high-performance standard and special cutting tools across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the UK. This role suits technical professionals transitioning into sales, such as NPI Engineers, NPD Engineers, Application Engineers, Technical Engineers, Process Engineers, or Manufacturing Engineers, who can leverage engineering expertise for consultative selling and customer success.
Key responsibilities
Drive sales growth of standard and special cutting tools in the assigned territory, exceeding targets through technical insight and relationship building.
Conduct regular customer, prospect, and distributor visits, providing expert application advice to optimize machining processes.
Identify and secure new business aligned with growth strategy, negotiating blanket orders and supporting projects from technical review to closure.
Analyze customer applications, recommend optimal tool solutions, and deliver training seminars on advanced cutting technologies.
Collaborate with internal R&D, engineering, and marketing teams, using CRM tools for precise sales tracking and reporting.
Introduce innovative products, uncovering new applications in existing and emerging markets.
Candidate profile
Ideal for technical experts moving into sales, such as NPI Engineers, NPD Engineers, Application Engineers, Technical Engineers, Process Engineers, or Manufacturing Engineers with machining process knowledge.
Several years in cutting tool applications (drilling, milling, tapping), with expertise in metallurgy, alloys, carbide, CNC Manufacturing and technical drawings.
Engineering degree or equivalent, paired with analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent English communication for presentations; additional languages advantageous.
Self-motivated, empathetic relationship-builder who thrives independently yet excels in teams, adapting to dynamic business needs.
