The Technology Delivery Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and safeguarding the successful delivery of software releases across multiple teams. This role acts as the central point of alignment between development, QA, operations, and business stakeholders, ensuring technical execution aligns with strategic objectives. The role includes governance over release practices, proactive risk management, and driving resolution of defects and incidents impacting delivery timelines or business operations.
Release & Delivery Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive release and delivery plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical dependencies, and resource availability.
Delivery Alignment & Coordination: Act as the central point of coordination between development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery execution.
Business Impact Analysis: Conduct impact assessments for defects and delivery delays, translating technical issues into business terms to support informed decision-making.
Defect Management Leadership: Lead defect prioritisation, ensuring stakeholder alignment and timely resolution of critical issues.
Managing Risk, Safeguarding Delivery and Release Timelines: Identify, Monitor and manage risks to delivery and release timelines and cross team dependencies, proactively addressing blockers, mitigating and escalating as needed.
Release Governance: Enforce release governance standards and best practices, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
Release Leadership Support and Escalation Management: Accountable for all release support and escalation management before and during release cutovers. Will have to be on call in and in some cases available during release cutovers.
Single Gateway into Development / Delivery from Ops (L3 & QA): Serve as the single gateway for operational teams into the development and delivery pipeline, streamlining communication and issue resolution.
L3 Incident Prioritisation: Lead the prioritisation of Level 3 defects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess severity, impact, and resolution timelines.
Roadmap Planning: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align delivery plans with the broader product roadmap and strategic goals.
Release Performance Management: Perform automated release performance management assessing the performance and output of all delivery streams within the release and report back to partners as part of SLA oversight process. Driving continuous improvement in release processes and tooling.
Experience in building, communicating, and managing technical roadmaps and schedules.
Experience in managing multi geographical delivery teams with multiple partners.
Strong project management skills to develop and maintain comprehensive release and delivery plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical dependencies, and resource availability
Excellent coordination and communication skills to act as the central point of coordination between development, QA, and operations teams, ensuring seamless delivery execution.
Ability to conduct thorough business impact analysis, translating technical issues into business terms to support informed decision-making.
Leadership in defect management, prioritizing and ensuring stakeholder alignment and timely resolution of critical issues.
Proactive risk management skills to monitor and manage risks to delivery and release timelines, addressing blockers and escalating as needed.
Knowledge of release governance standards and best practices, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
Strong organizational skills to serve as the single gateway for operational teams into the development and delivery pipeline, streamlining communication and issue resolution.
Expertise in prioritizing Level 3 defects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess severity, impact, and resolution timelines.
Experience in using automated tools for release performance management, strong analytical skills to assess delivery streams, project management expertise, excellent communication skills for reporting to partners, and a solid understanding of SLA management.
Able to communicate effectively and efficiently with all levels of the business while ascertaining the key impact/detail behind the issue/request
