Job Description - Trainee Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Help maintain and reconcile the general ledger and supporting financial records.
  • Support month end accounts receivable process including the generation and issuance of sales invoices
  • Conduct daily reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Support on expenses by processing and monitoring corporate expense claims in a timely and accurate manner
  • Help monitor cash flow and prepare daily or weekly cash reports as required.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes (journals, accruals, prepayments, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the wider finance and operations team to support financial data accuracy.
  • Support external audits and respond to queries as required.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, finance systems updates and integrations.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial and administrative support to the finance team.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics
  • Actively studying or planning to study towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, curious mindset and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Interest in the fintech industry and technology-led finance operations.
