Job Description - Web Developer / Programmer

Location: Hybrid working model including on site at Dublin 2 and remote working.

Contract : Initial 12 Months with further 2 extension of 12 months

Start date: 1 st Dec 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Experience Level Required:

· It is a mandatory requirement that the Resource proposed holds a 3rd level qualification in business, information technology, engineering, management information systems or a relevant related discipline. A third-level degree in software engineering or equivalent.

· It is a mandatory requirement, that the Resource proposed has the equivalent 4 to 6 years of experience.

The following non-exhaustive list of Key Deliverables, are applicable to this Role.

Ø A full-time analyst/programmer is required to work under the direction of the HPRA, and in conjunction with the HPRA’s infrastructure engineering and application support teams to:

Ø Ensure successful upgrade of the CESP portal. This work may include:

• Provision of structured development and test environments and ensuring that they are configured correctly for testing a range of business scenarios.

• Working with HPRA team to establish processes for the replication of production databases and other technical configuration requirements.

• Migrating/copying existing production configurations including workflows and configuration to test environments.

• Verifying source code and configuration to ensure that connections are flexibly coded, and testing does not impact production.

• Documenting and rebuild/recompiling the entire technology stack and ensuring reproducibility of the build process.

• Updating/creating key solution documentation covering Business Continuity and Recovery, Application Provisioning, Application Architecture, Software Architecture, and Development and Test Strategy.

Ø Redevelopment of Compliance Information System (CIS). This work may include:

• Updating application components and refactoring code as required.

• Improving the performance of application including making appropriate code changes as required.

• Improving application integration with external data sources including refining rules, field mapping and testing data feeds, inbound and outbound.

Requirements

The following Experience/Competencies/Skillsets are applicable to this Role.

1. Competent and experienced developing enterprise applications using common development frameworks including .NET, Angular and Bootstrap. Familiarity with a range of other development technologies would be advantageous.

2. Competent and experienced integrating enterprise applications with underlying infrastructure components including active directory, networks, and Microsoft web technologies.

3. Competent and experienced developing applications utilising Microsoft database technologies.

4. Competent and experienced using enterprise FTP solutions such as Globalscape or similar products.

5. Proficient and experienced with common development management tools including Microsoft DevOps, Jira, Confluence and MS Project, and working in a structured application development environment.

6. Possess excellent analytical skills, highly numerate, commercially aware with strong business acumen.
