Job Description - Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant/Part Qualified Accountant 

Accounting & Controlling

Responsible for the Financial Accounting of Avoca Cashbooks.

Responsible for the Financial Accounting of Avoca Bank Accounts including inter-bank transfers.

Responsible for the Financial Accounting for the Non-Creditor Avoca payments.

Support the AR team in collating the daily cashbook data for all Avoca stores, including support on any queries that might arise on an ad hoc basis.

Support the AR and business excellence teams in loss prevention in stores.

Participate in the monthly and quarterly close for all Avoca stores.

Support the stores bank reconciliations, and responsible for the FX Avoca bank reconciliations.

Responsible for the Financial Accounting for the Avoca Branch Transfers and Waste.

Responsible for the Financial Accounting for the Avoca staff expenses & petty cash across all stores.

Support the AP team in posting payment run rejections and refunds through the Avoca bank accounts.

Support with any ad hoc payments that may be required in conjunction with Aramark treasury team.

Responsible for weekly reporting of the store's procurement processing errors

Responsible for ensuring all Avoca online payments have been received and reconciled to internal reports.

BS reconciliations

Ad hoc GL analysis

 

Audit & Compliance

Responsible for the submission of the Intrastat CSO and support where required on all other revenue compliance reporting including VAT& RTD

Collaborate with Internal Audit and implement process improvements as required.

Support the Annual Audit for the Avoca Group.

Inputs to continuous process improvement to enhance the financial controls and reporting for the Avoca business.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Accounting technician/part qualified accountant
  • 2 years+ experience in a fast-paced environment dealing with multiple entities,
  • Excellent attention to detail
  •  Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to take initiative and work proactively with minimal supervision,
  • Team player who demonstrates a strong desire and willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience of Oracle Cloud (desirable, but not required)
