As the Lead Collections Coordinator within our Central Debt Team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of our debt collection activities. Reporting to the Country Manager, your primary focus will be on team management, workflow optimisation, and performance monitoring. You will lead a team of debt collectors, driving operational excellence and fostering a positive working environment.
Key responsibilities -
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the debt collection team, ensuring strict adherence to policies and procedures. Implement and enforce best practices to optimise the efficiency of debt collection processes.
Workflow Optimisation: Identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency and implement process improvements. Streamline communication and coordination between team members and internal stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to debt collectors, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Cultivate a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability within the team.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor individual and team performance against established targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Implement strategies to address performance gaps and drive continuous improvement.
Training and Development: Design and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members. Foster a culture of continuous learning to keep the team updated on industry best practices.
Issue Resolution: Address operational challenges promptly and effectively. Escalate complex issues to the Country Manager when necessary, providing recommended solutions.
Daily Workflow Management: Supervise daily activities, distribute work assignments, and ensure the team meets daily targets. Maintain a proactive approach to workload management, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Escalation Point: Serve as a point of escalation for complex cases, providing guidance and support to debt collectors.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular reviews of individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement. Implement quality assurance measures to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Training Support: Assist in the training and onboarding of new debt collectors, sharing expertise and best practices. Foster a supportive environment for professional growth and development within the team.
Client Interaction: Act as a liaison between debt collectors and clients, addressing queries and providing updates on cases. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to ensure effective communication.
Performance Reporting: Prepare and present performance reports to the Country Manager, highlighting achievements and challenges. Provide insights and recommendations for
Are you the perfect fit?
2 years+ proven experience in debt collection, with a focus on team management. Comfortable working in a targeted environment.
Strong team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate the team to achieve set targets.
Data driven with analytical mindset with the ability to maximise collection rates and identify and implement process improvements.
Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent Microsoft office, Excel and PowerPoint skills
