Job Description - Loyalty Air Partner Manager

Are you passionate about brand loyalty? Aer Lingus currently have an opening as Loyalty Air Partner Manager in our Customer Team. In this exciting role you will be accountable for shaping and leading the Other Airline Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP) strategy and operation in support of Aer Lingus. Working closely with EI alliances team, IAG Loyalty and our partners they will also shape broader loyalty initiatives and customer propositions.

This role will provide exposure to senior leaders across the IAG Loyalty, FFP airline partners and within Aer Lingus ensuring that they are fully up to speed on the strategic direction and Other Airline partnership performance. We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, proactive, and focused professional to help take our specialist team to the next level.

Key responsibilities as Loyalty Air Partner Manager include but not limited to:

  • To support the development of Aer Lingus FFP partnership strategy, ensuring all airline FFP partner developments are consistent with both the Aer Lingus and IAG strategy.
  • To lead or support, as appropriate, complex commercial FFP negotiations with existing and potential partner airlines and communicating contract terms and EI’s position to stakeholders of all levels.
  • Creating accurate models for new partner proposals and existing partner improvements, managing, and influencing cost of sale and revenue elements of partner agreements with support from EI Finance and Revenue Management
  • Working with EI Legal to review, amend and improve contract clauses.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the IAG Airline Alliances teams, acting, as a key contact for all EI loyalty queries
  • Travel overseas to build and maintain relationships across our Air Partner network and beyond, aiding in negotiations (< 10% of time)
  • Ensure contract terms are adhered to through tight management of the partner relationship and regular reviews.
  • Partnership management on a day-to-day level, acting, along with the Airline Operations team and IAG Loyalty (IAGL), as a key point of contact for external and internal staff on partner issues
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of competitor propositions, using this knowledge to inform and improve partner models.
  • Reporting and analysis of partner performance and financial trends, improving, enhancing, and implementing KPIs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams throughout EI and IAGL to implement new Air Partner propositions and changes to existing terms, ensuring commercial and customer value.
  • Work with data teams to ensure consistency of information across the groups in a fast-paced environment, delivering concise loyalty & partnerships performance summaries to Customer leadership.
  • Represent the interests of the Aer Lingus FFP Loyalty when dealing with carrier stakeholders with Atlantic Joint Business discussions.
  • Assist Head/Loyalty & Partnerships Managers/Programme & Product Managers on a variety of loyalty & partnerships work, as required.

Your qualifications and key criteria

  • A 10+ years degree in Business or other related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a commercial/Finance role.
  • Experience in contract negotiation, with previous exposure to legal language.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to manage and motivate a large stakeholder team as required.
  • Ability to act and lead independently taking initiative to identify ways that the loyalty opportunity can be applied to achieve desired results.
  • A passion for learning, innovating and constantly improving.
  • Proven record of delivering large/complex projects
  • Successful management of multiple and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience of negotiating with or working with 3rd parties and suppliers
  • Broad understanding of the airline industry
  • Is analytical and comfortable with financial data. Excellent ability to extract clear and actionable insights, conclusions & actions from data.
  • Demonstrates strong influencing and consultation skills, plus stakeholder management to a C-suite level.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multitask.
  • Understanding of airline business intelligence tools and data warehouses
  • Ability to turn complex data into compelling stories.
  • An outstanding team player
  • Well organised and outcome focused.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
