Trading Manager

My client is a leading comsumer products retailer operating 600 sites internationally including Ireland, UK & US. We are seeking a Trading Manager for our Commercial Trading Department in Ireland. Reporting to the Head of Trading in Dublin, this role involves managing category performance, supplier relationships, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee category management, including sales, margin, budget, and stock.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
• Lead negotiations for business planning and agreements.
• Identify opportunities to boost revenue.
• Source innovative product concepts and oversee their execution.
• Drive departmental efficiencies and adapt to market trends.
• Plan and execute range strategies.
• Report sales performance and monitor pricing and competition.
• Collaborate with supply chain for product availability.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in buying/trading management with strong negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• Experience with Power BI and SAP preferred.
• Background in convenience FMCG retail advantageous.
• Proven ability to build internal relationships.
• Energetic, adaptable, and results-driven.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
• Ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving organization.
• Project management experience.
• Resilient and calm under pressure.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Capacity to manage various FMCG categories.
