Collections Analyst

AIB Merchant Services (AIBMS) is one of Ireland’s largest providers of card acceptance services with operations in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, the UK and Europe. What does a successful Collections Analyst do?

As a Collections Analyst at AIB Merchant Services, you will expertly manage financial transactions, ensure timely payments, and minimize credit risk. You will collaborate with clients, maintain accurate records, and proactively address any discrepancies. You will play a crucial role ensuring that accounts are collected in compliance with all applicable regulations and internal performance standards to meet or exceed the monthly goal objectives of a personal and/or departmental budget. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to build positive relationships are paramount to this role.

What you will do:

  • Following up on overdue payments and implementing collections procedures as needed.
  • Processing invoices and maintaining the sales ledger.
  • Maintaining positive client relationships through effective negotiation of debt repayment.
  • Document all collection activities and communications within the collections system or database.
  • Must maintain a collection performance goal as outlined at the beginning of the period.
  • Contacting customers who are in arrears and prioritising collection of aged outstanding balances.
  • The ability to deal with multiple issues at the same time and prioritise workload to achieve results.
  • Liaising with third party organisations re collections and payment plans, ensuring good communication both internally with colleagues and departments and externally with customers, agencies, and all stakeholders.

What you will need to have:

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Solid experience with ERP systems (SAP advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong analytical decision-making skills and commercial acumen.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
