Transport Planner - Commercial

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Transport Planner to join a leading Irish Organisation! The objective of this role is to ensure efficient operation of the Commercial Business operations through effective planning and coordination while maintaining compliance.

• Responsible for daily planning and assigning work to vehicles and routes.
• Proactively monitor vehicle activities throughout the day to ensure adherence to planned schedules and routes, collaborating closely with the Commercial sales team to maintain service levels.
• Address and resolve queries from drivers, customers, and suppliers efficiently.
• Communicate with the Commercial sales team or customers directly as needed, to provide updates on delivery/collection times.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies related to customer addresses, collection/delivery times, and waste types, promptly addressing any delays or issues raised by drivers.
• Conduct daily driver debriefs covering completion of checklists, review of assigned skip jobs and route sheets, handling of weighbridge dockets, and scanning of QR codes on collection receptacles.
• Coordinate fleet servicing and maintenance in collaboration with the Fleet & Garage Manager to ensure legal compliance with tachograph, waste collection, health & safety, and other relevant legislation.
• Gather data for driver and operative bonuses calculation, collaborating with the Operations Manager to implement remedial action plans if targets are not met.
• Manage HR-related activities such as holidays, sickness absences, investigations, and disciplinary actions, escalating matters requiring management intervention as necessary.
• Provide cover for annual leave as needed, including managing incoming calls.
