DevOps Engineer (Cork or Remote)

Key Role Responsibilities:

Join our team and play a vital role in transforming our technological landscape by migrating our infrastructure to AWS. Your contributions will include:

• Lead AWS Transition: Oversee the strategic planning and execution of moving our on-premises infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring seamless performance with minimal disruption.
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Build, deploy, and continuously optimize our AWS environment for scalable, reliable, and secure operations.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Enhance our automation using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and other IaC tools for efficient infrastructure management.
• CI/CD Pipeline Mastery: Design, implement, and manage continuous integration and delivery pipelines to speed up development cycles and improve deployment reliability.
• Proactive Monitoring & Optimisation: Implement advanced monitoring solutions to manage system performance across AWS, ensuring optimality and resource efficiency.
• Security & Compliance: Strengthen our security posture within AWS, ensuring robust security measures, compliance with regulations, and readiness for security audits.
• Collaboration & Advocacy: Work closely with development teams to align infrastructure development with application needs, promoting best practices in DevOps and cloud architecture.
• Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Lead problem-solving for infrastructure-related issues, streamlining troubleshooting and resolution for AWS-based deployments.

Who You Are:

• Educational Excellence: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experienced in AWS: Proven experience in managing cloud infrastructures, especially AWS, with a background in cloud transition projects.
• Automation Enthusiast: Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and automation tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS CDK.
• CI/CD Innovator: Experienced in developing and maintaining CI/CD systems for seamless software lifecycles.
• Containerization & Orchestration Expert: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for modern application deployment and management.
• Security-Conscious: Strong emphasis on security protocols, compliance standards, and proactive risk management in your approach to infrastructure.
