Job Description - Fundraising & Marketing Officer

Location: Maynooth or Belfast

The Fundraising and Marketing Division is responsible for raising public income, recruiting new supporters, retaining existing supporters and growing our relevance by creating a better understanding of Trócaire’s work and its impact.

 As part of the Campaign Marketing team, the Fundraising & Marketing Officer will lead the planning and delivery of the Lent campaign. This is Trócaire’s most prominent fundraising campaign and raised €8.4 million in 2023. The Fundraising & Marketing Officer will also be responsible for driving brand relevance, oversight of Schools and Community fundraising activity, managing impact campaigns post appeal and related research and insight.

Requirements

Campaign Strategy & Management

  • Work with the Marketing Campaign Manager to deliver the campaign strategy and on a project to roll out the long-term direction of the Lent campaign with a view to optimising current campaign revenue and developing new income streams.
  • Lead the delivery of the fully integrated and cross-organisational Lent campaign (ROI & NI) - on time, on budget to deliver the agreed income target. 
  • Manage all campaign elements including determining the campaign theme, planning, content gathering and development of ATL (creative & media); BTL (print, production and distribution) and Digital (working closely with Digital Officer). 
  • Regularly monitor and report on relevant campaign KPIs such as Income, Engagement and Reach.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners to deliver high quality campaigns. 
  • Manage budgets & produce quarterly forecasts (income & expenditure).

Insight & Best Practice:  

  • Manage research & insight delivery, working with our external research partners. 
  • Conduct campaign reviews to ascertain ROI & feed learnings into future plans.
  • Identify ways to maximise income based on previous experience / learnings and look for new ideas to support income generation. 

 

Community Engagement Oversight:  

  • Work with the Community Engagement Officer to develop new ideas and innovations across Community and Schools Fundraising and deliver the brand strategy.
  • Oversight of Community and Schools fundraising & outreach activity

Collaboration & Team:  

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and lead the Lent Co-Ordination Group to drive campaign objectives. 
  • Manage a team of two: F&M Assistant and Community Engagement Officer 
  • Actively participate in performance management process to achieve objectives and personal development goals.

 

Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in a relevant marketing / fundraising position and/or proven track record of campaign revenue generation. 
  • Experience in managing national marketing campaigns with particular emphasis on ATL, BTL and digital marketing. 
  • Proven track record in delivering results. 
  • Management of external agencies (creative, media, research, print) 
  • Budget management, income forecasting and reporting. 
  • Experience of managing teams and cross functional teams

 

Skills

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate others, including cross functional teams. 
  • Excellent organisational / project management skills. 
  • Creativity and innovation. 
  • Strong research and analytical skills and good attention to detail.
  • Good commercial acumen and an ability to manage and prepare financial information and interpret data.
  • Good understanding of principles of ethics and regulation areas of advertising, data protection and fundraising

For the candidate with the required experience and passion for the role, Trócaire offers a competitive package of salary and benefits, including a generous pension and flexible working options. (Salary Ranges; depending on location; ROI €54,000-€58,000 & NI £37,685-£40,493)
