Job Description - Principal Acoustic Consultant

Job Summary


This position is open to flexible hybrid arrangements. We are open to considering remote candidates within the UK only , with the understanding that occasional travel to our Dublin office in Ireland will be necessary.


AWN is on the lookout for a seasoned Principal Acoustic Consultant to join and lead our growing Acoustics Team. The successful applicant will spearhead a variety of ambitious projects across multiple sectors, including data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, large-scale residential, and commercial developments. Our Acoustics Team, consisting of 18 technical professionals across Ireland and Spain, is part of Trinity Consultants’ larger Built Environment team, which includes acoustics divisions in New York, Chicago, Toronto, and Brisbane.


The Principal Acoustic Consultant will be instrumental in ensuring project excellence, drawing on their vast experience to lead our team. Ideal candidates will exhibit exceptional leadership, motivation, and teamwork capabilities. A robust combination of technical acumen and project management prowess, along with superior communication skills, is essential for effectively leading diverse and complex projects.


Core Responsibilities


The Principal Acoustic Consultant will:

  • Guide and manage acoustic assessment coordination.
  • Craft technical reports and draft technical specifications for tender documents.
  • Mentor team members and guide sub-consultants to uphold high standards and ensure successful project execution.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, regulatory entities, and subcontractors to meet all project criteria.
  • Handle intricate project and program management.
  • Develop proposals and strategies to meet and foresee client requirements.


Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience in acoustic consulting within the consulting industry.
  • Proven ability to handle complex projects in a dynamic setting.
  • A degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field (BSc or BA Hons).
  • Valid driving license.
  • Self-starter with organizational prowess and initiative leadership.
  • Knowledgeable in current acoustic standards (building and environmental acoustics, (LEED, WELL, BREEAM), acoustic modeling software, and instrumentation.
  • Keen attention to detail with stellar report writing and communication abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear outcomes.
  • Capacity to manage stringent deadlines and adapt to changing project demands.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working autonomously and within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
