Job Description - Regional Sales Manager

My client, a multinational in the life science industry based in Dublin , is looking for an experienced sales and business development professional to join their sales team as a  Regional Sales Manager. This Regional Sales Manager is a national role where they will be identifying new business as well as developing existing business throughout Ireland. The successful candidate will have proven sales and business development experience in the life science industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/implement and execute Regional strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the company’s customer base. The plan will be built in accordance with the Global Sales Director’s strategic plan.
  • Contribute to the monthly reporting, rolling forecast and budgeting processes requiring input from the sales team. 
  • Hire, train and retain through development and engagement a high performing team of technical sales representatives to achieve the business goals.
  • Manage one or more international strategic end-user accounts: develop and implement the sales roadmap, coordinate interactions at global level with central customer teams and with our own support functions, coordinate work with local sales team that intervene at customer site level.
  • Work closely with Product/Market/Sales management and support the development of new product and services.
  • Gather information on market trends and customer needs through direct customer interactions and market watch
  • Support any other business projects as and when required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Biology or other Technical field
  • Must have 3+ years Sales/Sales Management within the Life Sciences industry
  • Demonstrated record of achieving and exceeding revenue and profit targets
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Ability to work across organizations at a management level to achieve approval for plans and proposals
  • Proven ability to drive change within the organization through leadership and influence
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel.
