Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client, an energy company. This role involves a blend of mechanical engineering, process design, computer-aided design (CAD), and project management.

Responsibilities:

• Analyse customer site thermal infrastructure and propose solutions.
• Leverage extensive experience with heat pumps and thermal systems to add value for clients.
• Perform engineering design to validate solutions, detailing energy balances and predicted performance.
• Participate actively in project construction and design meetings.
• Oversee detailed design work by less experienced engineers and external consultants.
• Supervise and lead the selection of key equipment, validating supplier choices.
• Develop novel, effective engineering solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Conduct detailed design work and create comprehensive mechanical design plans, drawings, and specifications, adhering to local building codes and industry standards.
• Assume a technical leadership role within the design team.
• Assist in project management by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring designs meet client expectations.
• Review and approve mechanical designs to ensure performance, accuracy, functionality, and safety.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's (Level 8) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Exceptional quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills with strong analytical capabilities.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and AutoCAD/BIM.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven self-starter with strong self-motivation.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, manage workload, and prioritise tasks.
• Valid Full Driver’s License (preferable, but not mandatory).
• Commitment to delivering decarbonisation and contributing to renewable energy transition.
