Senior / Principal Java Developer

About the Role:

CPL is delighted to be partnered with a global organisation based in the heart of Cork City, the home of their Centre of Excellence. Our client is now seeking both a Senior and Principal Java Developer to join their team in a hybrid working capacity. The successful candidate will report to their Director of Software Engineering, playing a key part in development, architecture and the technical direction of the team in place. You will be working closely across internal teams, meaning the ideal candidate will not only be strong technically, but will need to have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude to match.

Experience Required:

5+ years’ experience

• Designing highly scalable APIs and available distributed systems.
• with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Message queue frameworks/technologies
• Experience with leveraging analytics, monitoring, observability software to drive decision making
• Coding in Java or other backend OO languages
• CI/CD pipelines, and experience integrating testing frameworks with these pipelines
• Relational / non-relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, ArangoDB, Snowflake, MongoDB, etc)
• Backend microservice development, including REST, asynchronous messaging (Rabbit, etc.), and NoSQL solutions.
• In one or more cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.

Nice to have

• You have experience with Mobile Technologies
• You have experience using Web Technologies
• You have experience using Embedded Technologies
• You have experience with Data Science or AI
