Job Description - Sustainability Marketing Lead

Location: Remote (reporting to Dublin office)

We do this by helping them to create, store, organize & analyze all their energy, carbon, transport, water, and waste data in one safe, simple and searchable location (including scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions).

We are one of the fastest-growing sustainability software startups around, using our automation, A.I. and analysis technologies to help companies save time, reduce costs, and improve sustainability results.

We are a fully remote team but we also support flexible work in shared office spaces if required and have regular team meetups/days out.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Sustainability Marketing Executive/Lead who will focus on helping us identify and target the best market opportunities for our technology and help accelerate decarbonization across the UK, Europe and internationally.

You will be joining a multi-talented team of committed problem solvers who are passionate about getting our planet back on track when it comes to a sustainable, safe future for us and for future generations.

We are looking for a passionate, adaptable, self-motivated and preferably experienced Sustainability Marketing Executive/Lead with a strong knowledge of SEO, digital marketing and go-to-market strategies to join us and grow with our company. You will lead the marketing area on identifying opportunities, working with sales and product development, engaging with prospects and customers, developing marketing content and generally proactively helping our users make better energy and sustainability decisions using their data. You will be getting in at the ground floor level with the opportunity to learn, lead and expand your responsibilities as your career develops with us.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include inter alia:

  • Working with the management team on how to market our software services and identify sweet spot customers.
  • Identifying gaps in marketing and support materials, and helping to develop new resources to fill these.
  • Quickly responding to opportunities and developing go-to-market plans.
  • Gathering customer/market feedback and engaging with the product team in relation to customer requirements and expectations.
  • Supporting the sales team on sales/prospecting work to identify and connect with potential users.
  • Understanding existing and prospective customers’ challenges, business models, success metrics, and efficiently coordinating internal resources to support clients.
  • Manage and develop SEO, blog, content and other marketing materials.
  • Good general knowledge and a keen interest to learn about current energy, climate and sustainability technologies, policies, roadmaps, targets and legislation.
  • Work experience in a relevant area to energy/sustainability support and communicating with customers.
  • Demonstrated track record of working in and supporting a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills across verbal, video and written media.
  • Strong team player with a passion for problem solving.

Preferred Experience

  • Early career track record of top performance in a similar role including in marketing B2B software or products (in the area of sustainability a plus).
  • Experience with SEO, event planning, digital marketing, social media and content creation.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively to develop marketing strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • Experience in a start-up/early stage scaling business environment and building a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and schedule effectively.
  • Experience providing market insights and go-to-market strategies to meet commercial goals.
  • Background knowledge of technology and platform solutions in the energy/climate software-as-a-service (SaaS) space.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (Honours) in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Market assessments and customer prioritisation
  • SEO content generation and blog/web content development (text, images, audio and video)
  • Setting and reviewing pricing and value proposition
  • Be an EnergyElephant ninja (know product inside out)
  • CPD & Training
  • Beta test all new features for bugs and UX
  • Prospect outreach monthly/quarterly (feedback and surveys)
  • Feedback weekly to product team with R&D on new features
  • Supporting sales team with new prospects. Presentations.
  • Monthly marketing emails/newsletter
  • Customer surveys for feedback (prospects, new customers, existing)
  • General marketing and prospecting
