We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer based in Grange Castle. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and development of the Quality Management Systems and BRC standard for ARYZTA Bakeries Manufacturing. 

Principle Accountabilities will include:

• Provide support to NPD and Purchasing in the introduction of new suppliers or ingredients to the business.
• Co-ordinate the introduction of new products into the bakery from trials to first production runs. Develop Quality Plans for new products and ensure specificationsare suitable for successful production.
• Ensure the relevant staff are trained and aware of the specification of any new products , monitor continued production of new Products.
• Updating of the QMS system in the Grange Castle bakery proactively and as requested (Quality manual, procedures manual, records manual, H.A.C.C.P., recipes etc.)
• Maintaining the Allergen Management System.
• Completion of Customer Complaint reports.
• Key Quality Representative for one production line – carry out GMP audits daily, monitor product quality, be proactive in carrying out root cause analysis for quality or food safety issues.
• Management and completion of Internal audits as per schedule
• Managing the Daily Product review and actioning any issues.
• Updates Product quality standards and ensure all staff are aware of changes.
• Managing of Calibration and maintenance of Q.A. equipment in bakery i.e. temp probes, scales, metal detectors etc.
• Working proactively with other departments within manufacturing to resolve any issues in the bakery on a daily basis.
• Deputise in the absence of the Quality Manager on Q.A. issues.
• Active participation in preparation and on the day handling of customer audits / F.P.R.’s / Visits/ GMP on the line
• Managing of Completion of external micro testing, nutritional & allergen programme.
• Ordering, raising POs for Quality, Hygiene and CIP staff

In future:

• Supplier auditing as per existing schedule, including visiting sites, writing audit report and follow up on corrective actions

Skills & Qualifications required:

• Minimum recognised Diploma in a food discipline or B.Sc. in science discipline.
• Familiarity with the requirements of the B.R.C. standard as well of those of the major retailers would be a significant advantage.
• The ideal candidate will ideally have at least 2 years’ experience in relevant Q.A. roles combined with some relevant manufacturing experience.

Hours of Work will be Monday to Friday 8:00am to 17:00.  Flexibility is required to participate in trials at weekends/Evenings and to provide cover when necessary.
