Job Description - VP of Sales & Partnerships

Position Overview:
As the VP of Sales & Partnerships, you will be a critical member of the executive team, responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, building strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in sales and partnerships within the sustainability or environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy and Execution:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Identify new market opportunities and create plans to enter and expand into these markets.
  • Utilise data-driven insights to inform and refine sales tactics.
  • Partnership Development:
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including corporations, industry groups, and sustainability organisations.
  • Negotiate and manage partnership agreements to ensure mutual benefit and alignment with Positive Carbon’s mission.
  • Leverage partnerships to enhance market penetration and brand recognition.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team.
  • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Market Expansion:
  • Drive efforts to expand Positive Carbon’s market presence domestically and internationally.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new products and services.
  • Identify and assess new revenue streams and business opportunities.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention by addressing customer needs and feedback promptly.
  • Develop customer-centric solutions that align with Positive Carbon’s value proposition.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, partnership success, and market expansion.
  • Provide regular updates to the executive team on progress, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Utilise CRM tools to manage sales pipelines and track performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • Proven track record in a commercial leadership role, preferably in the sustainability or environmental sector
  • Deep understanding of the climate change landscape and sustainability trends
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and partners
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and achieve business objectives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies, including new business development and client retention
