General Maintenance Worker - Part Time  - Listowel and North Kerry Area. 

Location: Listowel NEWKD Office & North Kerry Area
Reporting: CSP Program Manager
Hours: 19.5 hours per week

Days: Monday - Friday.

Job Description:

2.            Job Title:  General Maintenance Worker

3.            Reporting to: Diana McCarthy, Manager

4.            Salary and Benefits:  NMW €13.50 per hour

5.            Job Purpose: Provision of a general maintenance service to a targeted client base in North Kerry

6.            Base: Listowel & North Kerry area

7.            Contract: (Part-time Contract – subject to 6 month probation) 19.5 - hrs/Week, Mon, Tue, Wed

8.            Major Areas of responsibility:

• To carry out an assessment of the application for maintenance work from the client


• General maintenance and small repair work, to include painting, hedge cutting, power-washing and gardening to the homes of Older People in the North Kerry area.


• Provision of other services to be delivered based on future identified needs of client base


• To carry out any functions which may arise in relation to any or all of the above.


• Participate in relevant training and information session.

Person Specification:

The applicant will be a highly motivated and efficient person with relevant experience in General Maintenance work.

Specific requirements of the position will include:

• Knowledge and experience of general maintenance work around the home


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills


• Ability to work on own initiative and consult where appropriate


• Knowledge on issues that face Older People in the area


• Commitment to the ethos of the project


• Flexibility and adaptability


• Driving License & own transport desirable but not essential


• Garda Clearance will apply
