Lecturer

Lecturer – Accounting, Finance, and Business

Griffith College Cork is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching in Accounting, Finance, and Business disciplines. The ideal candidate will hold a Level 9 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field and bring academic or professional experience to inspire and engage our students.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops in areas such as Accounting, Finance, and Business.


• Develop innovative teaching materials and assessments aligned with industry and academic standards.

• Work within QA approved guidelines to assess student work and submissions.

• Support student learning and progression through mentoring and academic feedback.


• Contribute to curriculum development and ensure alignment with professional body standards (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).


• Engage with industry professionals to bring real-world context to the classroom.


• Participate in departmental meetings, academic reviews, and programme administration.

Requirements

• Level 9 qualification (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.


• Proven teaching ability and/or professional experience in accounting, finance, or business.


• Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain academic and professional standards.


• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools.

Desirable

• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CFA).


• Experience designing course content and assessment tools.


• Awareness of current trends and developments in the financial/business sector.

Mock Lecture Requirement

As part of the interview, candidates will deliver a 5–10 minute mock lecture on a selected topic to a panel acting as students. The session should focus on a specific concept and demonstrate teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
