Job Title: Part-Time Health and Safety Officer
Position Type: Part-Time
Purpose of the Role:
Facilitate compliance with the company Health & Safety Statement and associated processes, policies and legislation within Vision Ireland Group, Services, Foundation and Retail.
To provide advice, guidance and instruction regarding health and safety matters to ensure health and safety standards and legislation are met.
Staff taring, conduct inspections, and respond to emergencies.
Responsibilities:
Health and Safety Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks.
Develop and maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
Manage facility workplace incident investigations to include responding to and reporting all incidents, incident investigations, determine root cause, establishing recurrence prevention plans, and follow through.
Training and Education:
Deliver health and safety training programs to employees, including co-ordinating training including booking training sessions.
Ensure training records are maintained.
Provide guidance and support to staff on health and safety matters.
Keep abreast of developments in health and safety regulations and best practices.
Emergency Response:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
Respond to health and safety emergencies as required, including after hours and weekends.
Conduct post-incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Communication and Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with managers and staff to promote a positive health and safety culture.
Communicate health and safety policies, procedures, and updates effectively.
Liaise with external agencies, such as regulatory bodies and emergency services, as required.
Travel:
Travel to various locations throughout Ireland to conduct inspections, training, and provide support.
