Field Agronomist: Research and Operations

Nursy | Part-time, with a path to full-time

Nursy is building the future of plant management with multimodal AI. We come out of more than two years of research at the University of Pisa and are now an independent company working with 20+ nurseries in Italy and the UK, with the U.S. as our next market.

Results in the field have been encouraging: up to 50% savings in water, energy and agrochemical use. We closed a pre-seed round with institutional investors, the backing of Fastweb and Vodafone and other angels.

Compiti

You'll work closely with Luca Incrocci and Lorenzo Cotrozzi, Nursy’s scientific co-founders, and directly with nursery owners. It's a field role and an operations role at once: half your time in the nurseries, half on our platform.

Your key tasks:

• Help refine and test the agronomic irrigation algorithms alongside Luca,
• Own the onboarding of new nursery clients: irrigation sector data collection, configuration, training the grower,
• Visit clients in Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and Liguria to capture data, listen to nursery owners and bring their feedback back to us,
• Support drone flights and hardware installations (you'll be trained on both),
• Act as the agronomist in the loop monitoring the alarms our algorithms raise and helping to solve the problems.

Requisiti

Essential

• Degree in Agricultural Science (recent graduates and master's students welcome)
• Fluent Italian and working English
• Willing to travel often
• Driving licence and your own car (mileage and travel expenses covered)

Nice to have

• Experience — including thesis or internship work — in horticulture (with a focus on ornamental nurseries, irrigation, and fertilization) and/or plant pathology
• EASA A1/A3 drone pilot certificate; if you don't have it, we'll fund it
