The role also includes 16 hours of remote work prior to the start of the camp.

The Fashion, Art & Design Summer Camp is a creative and educational residential programme for international students aged 12–17. It combines learning in fashion design and creation processes, sustainability topics, cultural experiences, excursions in Milan and its surroundings, and a rich programme of evening activities.

Reporting to the Camp Head of Boarding and working closely with the Camp Director, the Camp Boarding Coordinator provides continuous pastoral care to boarding and day students while also supporting the supervision and coordination of Residential and Day Monitors.

The role involves active participation in daily decision-making, incident and emergency management, and the effective handling of sensitive situations involving students, staff and families, in close collaboration with camp leadership to ensure safeguarding, clear communication and consistent boarding procedures.

This is a residential role, with accommodation and meals provided on site. Staff work on a rotational and flexible timetable, including evening, late and overnight duties, and are expected to remain available on site outside scheduled hours in case of emergencies, except during designated day and night off periods.

For an overview of the camp programme, candidates are encouraged to review the ISM Summer Camp website prior to applying: Inspired Summer Camps

  • Ensure staff follow all boarding and school procedures and uphold ISM standards at all times.

  • Act as Deputy to the Head of Boarding when required.

  • Maintain and update daily boarding and operational logs, escalating concerns promptly to camp leadership.

  • Support communication with families, including the handling of sensitive situations involving students, staff and families.

  • Ensure the consistent implementation of boarding routines and procedures, including attendance, mealtimes, medication, bedtime and night duties.

  • Prepare and manage daily operational documentation, including attendance registers and contact lists.

  • Manage student valuables, passports and pocket money in accordance with ISM procedures.

  • Support the organisation and supervision of arrivals, departures and airport transfers.

  • Respond to incidents and emergencies, complete incident reports, carry the duty phone and remain on call as required.

  • Attend mandatory training days, planning sessions and staff meetings.

  • Comply with all ISM policies, safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations, maintaining strict confidentiality of all student, family and staff information.

  • Support the collection and management of required student documentation, including medical forms, consent forms, dietary needs and travel information.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • English language proficiency at Advanced or Proficiency level (C1–C2).

  • Experience working with children or teenagers in educational, recreational or residential settings.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a large team in a fast-paced camp environment.

  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism when working in a residential context with minors.

  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergency or high-pressure situations.

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, overnight duties and weekends.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families and colleagues.

  • High standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance.

  • Valid permission to work within Italy/EU.

  • Ability to provide a valid police background check (criminal record certificate) prior to the start of camp.
