Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist , being responsible for general accounting and account payable activities as a part of the Finance Team, will report hierarchically to the Finance Director. He/she will assure all accounting, tax and treasury processes, the maintenance of the statutory books in accordance with the Italian accounting standards, tax and legal requirements. Will supervise the external consultant (auditors, tax advisor, labor consultant) and verify and register suppliers and teachers’ invoices and support the function on ad hoc projects.

The selected candidate will carry out the following activities:

• Guarantee payment management and related taxes (for example withholding taxes) respecting the scheduled deadlines.
• Assure daily booking of bank, cash and credit cards transactions in accordance with the Italian accounting standards.
• Prepare cash report requested by the Group.
• Contribute to the definition of the annual financial statements for NABA and Domus Academy in compliance with all legal requirements.
• Assures the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements: GL account reconciliation, cost accruals, deferrals.
• Ensure the correct analytical registration of the costs. Organize external consultants (auditors, tax advisors, labor consultants).
• Interface with intercompany accounting staff to prepare monthly intercompany journal entries. Together with the controlling unit, on monthly basis, analyze the significant difference present in the GL accounts.
• Create asset records, proceed with the capitalization, amortization, depreciation, revaluation, and disposals. Reconciliation between GL account and asset book.
• On monthly basis prepare the F24 for withholding taxes payment, “new esterometro”, INTRASTAT model, periodical VAT returns.
• Interfacing with external consultants prepare all documents requested for annual VAT declaration, quarterly VAT communication, IRES and IRAP declaration, 770 model. Control the accuracy of annual “CU” (only for independent workers) respecting the scheduled deadlines.
• Verify and registers Suppliers and Teachers’ invoices, including formal accuracy and adherence to purchase orders (suppliers) and online register,
• Collect bank references (Iban/swift) and coordinate payment with Treasurer,
• Keep digital archive of the incoming invoices,
• Define accruals for costs not invoiced yet and prepare journal entries,
• Maintain correspondence with suppliers, teachers and internally to investigate discrepancies between expected charges and invoice.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for Finance Team

Job requirements:

The ideal candidate has a Degree in Economics and Management or equivalent.

Minimum of 2/3 years in role.

He/she has Analytical mindset with a very good attention to details.

Furthermore, he/she has excellent knowledge of accounting principles and procedures/processes including tax requirements.

Excellent use of SAP and Microsoft Office tools.

He/She is a great communicator ad a team player.

B2 level of English and fluent Italian are key.
