Business Analyst

The Position

This position is a member of the finance department. The Business Analyst will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager. This position will be responsible for analyzing financial and operational data by collecting data, developing actionable information, and creating appropriate models for decision support. Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends by utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 System and Microsoft Power Stack; recommending actions to leadership and management. Assist with annual and quarterly forecasting.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

• Financial & Operational Report Writing
• Development and maintenance of new financial & operational reporting to drive the organization’s goals and objectives forward
• Development of new tools and processes to support both business-wide and business segment Budgets and periodic reporting against Budgets
• Fully leverage available Microsoft Power Stack tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint) to provide useful information to users in order to meet customer needs and achieve tactical and strategic goals
• Accurate and timely preparation of monthly Balance Sheet, Income Statement & Statement of Cash Flows
• Business Process Development
• Work with stakeholders (Leadership Team and Managers) to create new and innovative ways to streamline business processes
• Fully leverage Microsoft SharePoint and Power Automate (formerly Flow)
• Utilize the above and other new and novel methods to maintain efficient and effective communications and handoffs between functional teams
• Develop documentation and training plans for all reporting and workflows developed
• General Accounting and Financial Reporting
• Prepares standard and non-standard journal entries for income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and other accounting reports
• Prepare monthly Account Reconciliations for assigned GL accounts
• Research and/or review unusual entries and/or entries that do not balance
• Review and process new Item creation and revision requests for Standard Cost Accounting
• Preparation of Commission Plan statements and development of related KPI to ensure plan alignment in driving revenue and increasing customer satisfaction

Job Requirements

Education

• Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or Technology with 2+ years of applied experience; OR associate degree with more than 5 years of applied experience

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

• Data driven personality with strong interpersonal skills and analytical capabilities
• Ability to work well with others in a highly collaborative environment
• Core competencies to include Financial Modeling and Financial Statement Analysis, with a broad IT domain experience desired in Process Management and Applications Development
• Flexible self-starter, able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented
• Highly motivated with an ability to work in a dynamic team environment
• High proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Stack (Power BI, Power Automate and SharePoint)
