Career opportunities: Business Product Analyst Level 2

Introduction

Within the Safety, Security & Crisis Management business platform, you will play an important role as an IT Business Product Analyst (BPA) in supporting our business units with data driven decision-making and technological innovation. The platform touches all parts of KLM, meaning your work has a direct impact on the safety and continuity of our operations.

You will specifically land within one of our teams within the security domain that focuses on delivering (IT)-solutions for physical access control, credential/ID card management and camera surveillance which is an integral and important part of making sure our level of security meets our high standards.

You will work in a product team responsible for delivering maximum business value. Together with colleagues and stakeholders, you translate epics and features into concrete user stories and contribute to solutions that are used across the organization. 

You would do this by investigating business needs, current processes, involved systems and interfaces. You would also interact with (internal as well as external) stakeholders, solution architects, engineers, other product teams and external vendors to eventually come with solutions that best would fit the needs. 

What are you going to do?

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Mapping business processes, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing improvements (e.g. improving our ID-card issuance process);


• Gathering, specifying, and prioritizing business and user requirements, including acceptance criteria;


• Manage different stakeholders internally as well as externally (e.g. Schiphol);


• Translating features into user stories;


• Encouraging the use of innovative technologies within the security domain (e.g. exploring innovative technologies like automation, AI supporting processes and new security technologies);


• Performing functional acceptance testing with end users;


• Supporting the team during the implementation of chosen solutions;


• You would be performing tests in a physical environment with Camera’s/Controllers/Card readers rather than only IT environments. 

Your profile

You will closely together with more experienced BPA’s as well as a committed and involved Product manager. 
You are an enthusiastic, analytical, and proactive professional who knows how to bridge the gap between business and IT. You can translate business needs into practical and effective IT solutions and enjoy working together to achieve common goals. You like to manage stakeholders and can think outside the box. 

You bring:

• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Business Information Management, Computer Science, or a similar field;


• Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst or in a comparable discipline;


• A pro-active attitude;


• Knowledge of and experience with IT concepts, technologies, and application landscapes. You will not be an software engineer but should be able to quickly understand complex (IT) processes;


• Experience with process modeling (e.g., BPMN, UML);


• Some Experience identifying process bottlenecks and proposing improvements;


• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English;


• The ability to inspire, motivate, and guide colleagues through change.
