All about the role:

The Category Manager will develop and deploy a successful commercial strategy for the product category based on deep understanding of market, competitors and retail dynamics, while leading a range manager and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. Ultimately you will ensure effective ranging, management of the life cycle of the products in the category, strong product messaging, effective launch strategies and execution.

We are looking for a proven business leader able to drive the business in line with the overall strategic direction combining strong analytical skills, commercial aptitude and capability to see the big picture. You will have a wide exposure within the organization with many cross-functional contacts centrally as well as local Product Line and Sales counterparts in European clusters.  

What you’ll do:

• Full Profit & Loss responsibility for the product category in Europe leading the range and commercial strategy definition in all the countries in scope.
• Prepare/execute market launches with clusters and Product Marketing (timing, ranging, strategic pricing, distribution, marketing activities etc.) for new projects and range updates for existing projects.
• Keep a sharp overview of the market, competitor and financial development for the category total/brand/countries and propose actions to reach targets working closely with sales and marketing.
• Owner of product life cycle – cradle to grave: opportunities, concepts, specs, profitability, phase-in/phase-out, and responsible for reducing complexity in strong collaboration global Innovation team.
• Define the EU range model catalogue including target launch price,  unique selling proposition and secondary benefits.
• Drive new business opportunities, and address gaps, together with sales, marketing and Commercial Areas and Markets.
• Create compelling product value propositions and drive new product development together with Innovation, Marketing and Design.

Who you are:

• Graduate in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 8 - 10 years of experience in category management, marketing and/or commercial areas and/or product development with international exposure.
• Experience in more than one function in manufacturing companies (home appliances, consumer electronics, automotive etc.) is considered as a strong plus.
• Project management skills, able to plan and focus on strategic priorities.
• Ability to manage different stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
