This role is responsible for defining and executing regional market access, reimbursement, and value strategies, ensuring timely and sustainable patient access to DePuy Synthes’ technologies across diverse EMEA healthcare systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead EMEA market access and reimbursement strategies for DePuy Synthes specialties and platforms, ensuring regional needs are reflected in global evidence and content strategies.

  • Depending on the country/market where the role is based, the role may take on additional market responsibilities and, as needed, be directly accountable to the Business Platform.

  • Drive market access funding strategies and adoption plans at market level (e.g., reimbursement pathways, tenders, and key account access levers), in alignment with EMEA priorities.

  • Lead EMEA-specific evidence generation and value creation activities, translating insights into locally relevant value messages and tools to support stakeholder engagement.

  • Shape the external environment by proactively engaging payers and other non-clinical stakeholders to build advocacy, inform access pathways, and advance value-based adoption.

  • Partner with Regional business leaders, as well as Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Clinical teams, to shape market access and reimbursement strategies across EMEA.

  • Work with Global and Regional Clinical & Medical Affairs teams to co-create regional and local evidence strategies for priority technologies and platforms.

  • Foster strong collaboration between local, cluster, regional, and global HEMA teams, ensuring aligned ways of working and effective communication.

  • Identify and prioritize cross-regional HEMA initiatives that can be efficiently executed at EMEA level to maximize impact and consistency.

  • Support local commercial organizations with data, tools, and expertise to overcome access barriers and accelerate new product and technology adoption.

  • Develop and retain high-potential talent across EMEA, ensuring succession planning and leadership development.

  • Ensure effective dissemination and utilization of health economic tools and value assets across markets.

  • Track progress against HEMA priorities, aligning activities with business objectives, timelines, and commitments.

  • Enable commercial organizations to maximize the impact of value propositions and support innovation adoption across the region.

Key Milestones & Progress Toward Goals

  • Define and deliver economic value propositions and EMEA market access and reimbursement strategies across the product lifecycle.

  • Deliver HEMA milestones throughout the pipeline, supporting value-based pricing and access optimization.

  • Secure optimal and sustainable market access for priority technologies across EMEA, addressing variability in healthcare systems and access pathways.

Key Activities

  • Act as a regional HEMA point of reference for key access stakeholders, including HTA bodies, payers, and institutional decision-makers.

  • Oversee regional funding, reimbursement, and access initiatives addressing unmet medical needs through evidence-based differentiation.

  • Provide leadership for HTA opportunities, supporting strategies to influence and navigate regional and local assessment processes.

  • Support local teams with evidence-based value drivers for tenders, reimbursement submissions, negotiations, and external communications.

  • Collaborate with commercial and functional partners to identify priority accounts and initiatives where HEMA can drive measurable business outcomes.

  • Contribute regional input into global market access and evidence strategies, ensuring EMEA needs are represented.

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing EMEA HEMA organization to execute regional strategies effectively.

  • Deliver and support Health Economics and value training initiatives for internal stakeholders, in collaboration with commercial education teams.

  • Ensure compliance with HEMA standards, local regulations, and DePuy Synthes quality and governance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Health Economics, Market Access & Reimbursement, preferably within Medical Devices / MedTech.

  • Proven experience leading regional, cross-functional, and multicultural teams in complex matrix organizations.

  • Strong understanding of EMEA healthcare systems, HTA processes, and hospital funding mechanisms.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex clinical and economic data into actionable value strategies.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong passion for value-based healthcare and improving patient access to innovative technologies.
