European Institutions: ETL Data Integration Specialist

Join our client’s team in Ispra (Varese) as ETL Data Integration Specialist within the European Commissions.

DG JRC, Unit F.3 on Chemical Safety and Alternative Methods including The European Union Reference Laboratory for alternatives to animal testing (EURL ECVAM), is part of Directorate F for Health, Consumers and Reference Materials.
The unit provides support to a broad range of policy areas related to chemicals including industrial and household chemicals, cosmetics, food, plant protection products, endocrine disrupters and chemical mixtures.

YOUR TASKS

Maintenance of the IPCHEM data harmonization, integration and dissemination processes;
Assistance to IPCHEM data providers and users, including curation of standard on-boarding paths and their documentation;
Reporting on the IPCHEM harmonization and dissemination of new datasets;
Maintenance of the IPCHEM software, covering the full-stack (HTML, JavaScript, Java, ETL, PostgreSQL, R and Python scripting);
Relationships with IPCHEM system manager, business manager, data providers and users; YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of the tasks:
ETL data harmonisation tools (Pentaho Data Integration – Community Edition)
PostgreSQL / PostGIS data management (except server administration)
Java / Tomcat software development and maintenance Good knowledge of:
HTML, JavaScript, Python software maintenance
Ability to curate data harmonization and corresponding documentation
Attitude to learn new technologies, and to apply high quality standards to data management and software development
Good communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Flexibility in terms of analytical and problem solving approach
Capability to write clear and structured technical documents in English
Ability to participate in technical meetings with good command of English EXTRA INFORMATION Work mode: Hybrid, 2 days on-site per week and the rest from home
