HR Generalist | Season 2024 | Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel

Grand Hotel Timeo, a Belmond Hotel, is a storied Sicilian hideaway in the heart of Taormina. Adjacent to the ancient Greek Theatre, its views span majestic Mount Etna and Naxos Bay. We are looking for an HR Generalist for Grand Hotel Timeo that will be involved in a wide range of support activities inside our HR department, from coordinating training meetings to maintaining our employee database to posting job ads. You’ll also assist in creating policies, processes and documents. Ultimately, you’ll ensure HR department is organized and operates smoothly to attract, hire and retain our employees. 

Main duties: 

• Assisting with day to day operations of the HR functions 
• Supporting on keep the culture of the hotel alive by embedding Belmond behaviours, promoting a fair, safe, inclusive, diverse environment and leading initiatives that engage and empower the team 
• Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc) 
• Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) 
• Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews 
• Support the HR manager to conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees and onboarding

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year's experience across all aspects of Human Resources within the hospitality industry  preferred
• Fluent in Italian and English is a must 
• Excellent communication skills in all aspects: verbal, written and non-verbal 
• Proficient in using Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills: you must be approachable, open-minded and fair  
• Quality driven with a passionate for excellence and about bringing out the best in other people
