Investment Analyst

What do we want?

We are looking for a detail-oriented Investment Analyst with a background in startups, venture capital (VC) fund. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and financial skills to evaluate potential startup investment opportunities, prepare comprehensive investment materials, conduct thorough due diligence, and assess various ventures' feasibility and risk profiles. This role requires proficiency in financial modeling, market research, and understanding investment terms and conditions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the tech and software investment landscape, especially in the MENA region.

What you will do…

• Analyze and evaluate startup companies’ business models, financial statements, competitive positioning, and market opportunities and conduct in-depth research and due diligence on prospective investments, including market and industry analysis.
• Create and maintain complex financial models to forecast company growth and project returns, ensuring accuracy and alignment with market trends.
• Develop compelling investment decks and presentations that summarize research findings, financial performance, and strategic rationale for potential investments and assist in preparing internal investment memorandums, summaries, and detailed reports for stakeholders and investment committees.
• Evaluate various deal structures, including equity, convertible notes, and SAFE agreements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Monitor the performance of existing portfolio companies, providing ongoing support and recommendations to enhance outcomes and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics of portfolio companies, identifying trends and areas for value creation.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive market information database, updating it regularly with relevant data to support strategic research.
• Participate in gathering and analyzing data to identify potential investment opportunities within the tech and software sectors in the MENA region.
• Perform market and sector research to identify gaps, emerging trends, and opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date with financial market developments, sector-specific trends, and economic conditions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in investment analysis, financial modeling, or related financial roles.
• Experience working within a startup or technology-focused company.
• Proven experience in evaluating early-stage startups and understanding their growth dynamics.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis.
• Passion for development finance and thriving in multicultural environments.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of financial markets, investment strategies, and valuation techniques.
• Proficient in using financial tracking and data processing software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Strong interest in economic and social development in the MENA region is a plus.
