IT Engineer

Short Description

IT Engineer is a member of the Management Information Technology and Systems (MITS) office, responsible for on-site IDC operation, HPC platform and academic research projects support for XEC Campus (XJTLU ENTREPRENEUR COLLEGE (TAICANG)).

IT工程师是管理信息技术与系统办公室的成员，负责XEC校区（西交利物浦大学创业家学院）（太仓）的数据中心和超算平台的运维及学术研究项目的支持。

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

1.    Provide Academic hardware evaluation and technical support.

2.    Installation and troubleshooting of servers and network equipment

3.    Support to build academic research lab and studio.

4.    Support learning and teaching software in the computer lab and research lab.

5.    Support research projects (TDF, RDF, SURF, NSFC, etc.) and research institution of the university.

6.    Support High-Performance Computing platforms.

7.    Participate in the construction of the operation and maintenance system, achieve distributed and highly available cluster operation and maintenance, develop business-related operation and maintenance technology solutions, and ensure the efficient and stable operation of the business system.

8.    Participate in the construction of automated operation and maintenance platforms to improve operation and maintenance efficiency.

9.    Provide overall solution services and optimization suggestions for the business system, optimize and improve the architecture and performance of the business system.

10.    Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the University disaster recovery and business continuity strategies

11.    Other works assigned by line manager.

10.    根据大学的灾难恢复和业务连续性策略，设计和执行服务器和安全审计、系统备份程序和其他恢复流程

11.    直属领导安排的其他工作

Qualifications

Qualifications

1.    Master degree in computer science or equivalent education.

2.    Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarins.

3.    At least five years of experience working within IT field.

4.    Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

5.    Good interpersonal and communication skills, and Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

6.    Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

7.    Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

8.    Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

9.    Willingness to learn and work in an international campus environment.

10.    Overseas education background or working experiences would be a plus.

Technical Skills:

1.    Familiar with computer systems, software, and IT services

2.    Familiar with the installation, monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning capabilities of Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, LVS, Keepalive, HAproxy, Memcache, Redis and other middleware.

3.    Familiar with the establishment, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery of database high-availability clusters.

4.    Proficient in the deployment and tuning of Docker and Kubernetes

5.    Proficient in Linux operating system, network and database related knowledge, and good at script programming such as Shell/Perl/Python.

6.    Good troubleshooting skills.

7.    Familiar with the installation and maintenance of Lenovo/Inspur/Dell/H3C x86 servers and storage.

8.    Familiar with TCP/IP principles, familiar with Extreme and Huawei network product configuration and management.

9.    Familiar with technologies such as VMware, KVM, OpenStack, Docker, etc

1.    熟悉计算机系统、软件、IT服务

2.    熟悉Tomcat、Apache、Nginx、LVS、Keepalive、HAproxy、Memcache、Redis等中间件的安装、监控、故障排除和调优

3.    熟悉数据库高可用集群的搭建、监控、备份、容灾等

4.    熟练掌握Docker、Kubernetes的部署和调优
