KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

You will serve as a KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the N3 Directorate of Maritime Operations of NAVEUR/NAVAF and SIXTHFLT - Naples, Italy. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Develop knowledge management framework that includes an information system that helps staff document, control, organize and share information;
2) Develop and enforce policies for effective management of intellectual capital and expeditious access to information;
3) Maintain standard Naval and latest knowledge and information sharing technologies to provide up-to-date access to knowledge products and services; and/or
4) Utilize knowledge products and systems to manage information (e.g. Collaboration at Sea (CAS), the Knowledge Web (K-Web), SharePoint, Chat, Email, Share Drives, online websites, portals and other web-based applications and tools). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing occurs during the normal workday in connection with briefing, meetings, conferences, and
inspections. Travel is required of this position on a regular basis. No special physical effort or ability is required to perform the work. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is primarily performed in an office-like setting involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such
places as offices, meeting rooms, etc. The work environment is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Occasional embarkations on the CNE-CNA-C6F Command Ship, and/or other surface or subsurface vessels may be required. Work areas onboard ships may be comparable to the typical office setting, but generally smaller and with wider variations in heating and cooling. Travel may include destinations that require extensive vaccination, pre- and post-travel medication, and may involve exposure to rare and/or debilitating diseases, insects, or parasites not commonly found in the US or Western Europe. Travel and work in various locations may involve exposure to unusual heat, humidity, and other climatic conditions not commonly found at the duty station. Travel may include destinations that require personal force protection plans to be developed as precautionary activities.
